Brazilian artist, illustrator and cartoonist.

Summary

In 1979, in Mooca (city of São Paulo), came to the world Ronaldo Barata.
Barata, still a ten-year-old boy, started studying drawing. And it was love to the first draft.
The lines, shadows and shapes took his heart and filled his chest with the desire to become a professional designer ... Ignoring all the warnings and warnings about the almost null recognition of the profession and the low aggregate remuneration, Barata graduated in Drawing Communication by ETE José Rocha Mendes; Qualified in Visual Programming (a profession that today is simply called Graphic Design) by Salesian Publishers Don Bosco; He became a web designer for the SENAI and SENAC schools and specialized in illustration and comic books in one of the first classes of the Quanta Academy of Arts.
Professionally, young Periplaneta Americana, at the height of his 18 years and just released from compulsory military service, began working in advertising agencies, initially as an art assistant.
In this period, he worked with creation, graphic design, development of logos and visual identities, business cards, folders, publishing, layout and web design, but always working in parallel with illustration and creation of mascots.
In the turn of 1999 to 2000, believing that the world would be destroyed in a nuclear hecatomb caused by the millennium bug, Barata left the publicity. It was a difficult separation - the agencies were left with the custody of the jobs and they obtained an injunction in the justice preventing him from approaching his creations. Sad ... but we create jobs for the world, not for people.
Anyway, as the world did not end, he began to teach drawing, illustration and comics and to act as a free-lancer illustrator.
Illustrated for didactic books, paradidáticos, RPG, magazines, publicity and sites.
And keeps going! He is a professor of Drawing and Digital Art at the Quanta Academy of Arts, he is an art director at Quanta Studio and still does many illustrations apart from all of this.
